Antonio M. Velasco, 82, of Perth Amboy entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.

Antonio was born in Cuba and has resided in Perth Amboy for the past 42 years. He co-owned La Economica Wholesale Grocers in Perth Amboy for more than 30 years, retiring in 1994.

Antonio was predeceased by his daughter, Sergia Velasco, in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Natividad Martin Machado Velasco; his son, Carlos J. Velasco of Perth Amboy; 3 grandchildren: Vanessa Hernandez, John Hernandez, and Arlene Velasco; 2 great-grandchildren Isaiah Taveras and Celita Hernandez; and his brother Ite Velasco of Miami.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011, at 10:00 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, April 7, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
