Antoinette Garzaniti, 94 of Matawan, NJ and formerly of the Bensonhurst section of Brookln, NY, passed away peacefully at the Madison Care Center in Matawan on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
She was born in Naples, Italy, immigrated to Brooklyn, NY and has resided in Matawan the last 8 years. She was a retired seamstress, and also was a former cafeteria worker for School #201 in Brooklyn. Antoinette enjoyed playing bingo and cards, loved her trips to Atlantic City, NJ and she loved to sing, especially, show tunes and Italian songs.
Antoinette is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, who died in 1996.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Diane Cava and her husband Michael, of Matawan and Linda Smith of Brooklyn, and her son, Joseph and his wife Maryann, of Marlboro Twp. her 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday November 24,2012 at 9:30 a.m. From the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863 followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in Fords, interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
