Anthony A. Stumpf, 94, of Edison died Friday, November 4, 2011, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
Anthony was born in Perth Amboy and has resided in Edison since 1952. He was a veteran of WW II having served with the US Navy Sea Bees Construction Battalion for four years. He retired in 1986 after 13 years as a sheet- metal worker with Johnson & Johnson, North Brunswick. Prior to his employment with J&J, he had been employed as a Foreman with Welin, Davit & Boat of Perth Amboy for 24 years. He was knownn as "Mr. Fix-It," the lawnmower repairman of Edison.
Anthony was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace, RC Church, Fords.
He was a member of American Legion Clara Barton Post #324, Edison.
He is predeceased by his wife, Rose Susan Stumpf, who died in 1988; his brothers, John, Joseph, and Steven Stumpf; and his sister, Mary Koncsol. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia K. Hudak and her husband George of Edison; his two sons: James A. Stumpf and his wife Catherine, of West New York, NJ, and Allan J. Stumpf and his wife Mary of of Stewartsville; his two granddaughters: Kate D'Andrea and her husband Kyle of Ft. Bragg, NC, and Karin Stumpf of Stewartsville; two great- grandchildren: Emma and Broden D'Andrea; his brother, Louis Stumpf of North Brunswick; and his sister, Julia Garoniak of Milford.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 10:0 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863 followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church,Fords. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 7, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
