Obituary of Anthony J. Schinella


Anthony J. Schinella, Sr., 78, of Fords, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at his home. Mr. Schinella was born in Bronx, NY to the late Peter and Marie Schinella and had previously lived in Perth Amboy before he moved to Fords sixty-five years ago.

Mr. Schinella received his Masters Degree in Accounting and had been employed by the Jersey City Medical Center for ten years before retiring in 2014.

He was a member of the Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. He was also a member of the Woodbridge Community Center Billiard Club. Anthony was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed travelling.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years Patricia (Salata) Schinella, two sons : Anthony Schinella Jr. and wife Maria of Somerset and Steven Schinella Sr. and wife Kimberlee of Flemington, his sister Annette Dowling of Rockaway, four grandchildren; Gina, Anthony III, Steven Jr., and Matthew, his granddog Rubee and two nephews John and Brian Dowling.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm at the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave. Fords. The family asks that you kindly remain masked at all times while in the funeral home. Private funeral services will follow.
