Anthony E. Scala, 97, of Edison, passed away on August 5, 2017, at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison.  Born in Perth Amboy on April 26, 1920, to John and Ida Scala, he resided in Edison for the past 48 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII as a Combat Infantryman, Hq. Co. 3 ^rd Battalion, 141 ^st Infantry Division in the European African Middle East Theatre from 1943-1945.  Anthony retired in 1971 after 30 years of Federal Government service at General Service Administration, New York and Raritan Arsenal in Edison, where he was employed as a Printing Plant Foreman.

Anthony was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife, Helen Reso Scala; and his sisters, Estelle Thorik and Florence Scala.

A private cremation service was held on August 8, 2017.
