Anthony L. Mandica, a resident at Menlo Park Veteran's Home, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at the home. Born May 28, 1918, in Perth Amboy he resided in Metuchen most of his life.

Tony was a restaurateur who owned Mandica's Stag Bar in Perth Amboy, Mandica I in Perth Amboy, Mandica II in Edison, and Mandica III in Woodbridge; he retired in 1987. He was educated at the Holy Rosary School and Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1936, and joined the Navy in 1942 during WW II. He was a former member of Most Holy Rosary Church and communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. He was active in San Salvadore Council # 299 K of C, Catholic War Veterans and volunteer at RBMC Dietary Department for 25 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dominica Mandica; wife, Dorothy (Palisi) Mandica 2012; brother, Bruno and sisters, Lucy Mraz and Jennie Mandica. Surviving are his daughter, Dorothy Winhold of Metuchen; grandchildren, Mark Mandica and wife Crystal, Jason Winhold and wife Tracy, and Jillian Winhold and husband David Degatano; great grandsons, Anthony L. Mandica II and Chase Mandica. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will begin Friday, February 1, 2013, at 10AM from Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM St. Francis Cathedral. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the funeral home.
