Anthony ("Tony") J. Haiduk 80, of Perth Amboy entered into eternal rest Saturday April 12, 2014, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. He was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of the city. Tony was a member of Perth Amboy High School class of 1952.Tony was a computer operator for Middlesex County College in Edison for 25 years before retiring in 2008. He had previously been employed by Flagstaff Foods in Perth Amboy for many years.He was a communicant of St. Stephen's R C Church in Perth Amboy, and was active in the parish, serving as a church usher.Tony proudly served his country in the Navy for 40 years, including tours on the USS Stoddard and USS Braine, and decades in the naval reserves until he retired in 1993.When his daughters were growing up, Tony enjoyed playing Santa Claus at their elementary school. He was an avid Yankee's fan -- which he shared with his sons-in-law and grandchildren, enjoyed gardening and visiting the Perth Amboy waterfront. Tony always enjoyed a good cup of coffee.Tony was predeceased by his siblings Stanley, Theresa, Mary, Viola, and Josephine. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ruth Catapane Haiduk, his daughters Lisa M. Hayes and Jennifer E. Ramirez, and their respective husbands, Kevin and Felix, all of Kendall Park. Tony is also survived by three vibrant grandchildren Matthew Hayes, Adriana and Lucas Ramirez, along with many nieces and nephews.A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 11 am at St. Stephen's R C Church 490 State Street, Perth Amboy. There will be no visiting hours and everyone is asked to meet at the church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project is encouraged. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral 23 Ford Avenue, Fords.
