Antero D. Vargas,95, of Middlesex, died March 15, 2011, at Alameda Care Center, Perth Amboy.
Born in Puerto Rico, he resided in South Bound Brook for the last 20 years. Antero was a self-employed sugarcane farmer in Puerto Rico.
He is predeceased by his sister, Virginia Vargas. Surviving are his wife, Luz Maria (Negron), to whom he was married for 62 years; his sons, Ramon and Wilfredo; daughters, Nereida Nieves, Isabel Raymondi, Teresa Rios, Idalia Vargas, and Maribel Fernandez;
22 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren; brother,Rufino; and sisters: Juana Rodriguez, and Emilia and Elisa Vargas.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011, from FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy,
followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Friday, March 18, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM.
