Anne Drotar (nee Zelwak), 89, of Stratford, CT, died July 28, 2012, in Bridgeport, CT.
Born, June 8, 1923, in Perth Amboy, she moved to Edison and then Toms River, where she resided for many years. She was an Operator/Manager for Public Service Gas and Electric in Perth Amboy, from 1944-1981. Anne graduated Perth Amboy High School with the Class of 1941. She was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption, a member of St. Stephan's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Toms River, and a member of the Alter Rosary Society. She was the Secretary of the Edison Elks Club and a member of the Women's Business Club in Perth Amboy. Anne was also a member of RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in Toms River.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Drotar in 2001; her sister, Mary Mercadante; and three brothers: Walter, John, and Joseph Zelwak.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Joanne Potratz of Stratford, CT; two granddaughters, Virginia Anne and Megan Elizabeth Potratz; three nephews, Walter and Zachary Zelwak, and Rich Mucinski; and three nieces: Carol Mucinski, Mary Ann Rourke, and Rose Flynn.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 3:00-7:00pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:00 am at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Service of Devine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
