Anna M. Karasinski (nee: Gondola), 100, of Edison, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Haven Hospice Unit at the JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Anna was born on December 25, 1910, to Anna and John Gondola in what was then known as Raritan Twp. (currently Edison Twp.), where she was a life-long resident. She was a seamstress with the Dress Factory in New Brunswick, The Men's Shirt Factory in Perth Amboy and during WW II worked at General Ceramics in Keasbey.
Anna married her late husband, Michael Karasinski, on January 24, 1932, in Holy Trinity Church in Perth Amboy and was most recently a communicant of the Church of the Guardian Angel in Edison. Anna enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and gardening and spending time with her loving family. She was recently recognized by Edison Mayor, Antonia Ricigliano, receiving a proclamation on celebrating her 100th birthday.
Anna is survived by her 3 daughters: Eleanor Scranton of Spotswood, Alice Di Forti and her husband James of Stroudsburg, PA, and Doris Cole and her husband James of Chesterfield, VA; her sister, Mary Lamberti of Mt. Holly; and her five grandchildren: Anthony, Edward, James, David and Michelle; and her eight great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Michael D., Michael S., Elizabeth, Patrick, Paul, Alexandrea, and Nicholas.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 15, 2011, at 8:30 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863 followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 9:00 a.m. at the Church of the Guardian Angel, in Edison. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
