Anna L. Cappiello Gironda 96, of Edison entered into eternal rest, Friday August 28, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jersey City and lived there for 50 years before moving to Keasbey for 30 years and lastly to Edison.

Anna was an Administrative Assistant with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NY for 10 years, before retiring in 1991. She had previously been an Executive Secretary with Registrar and Transfer Company in Jersey City for many years.

She received Certificates in Mathematics and Statistics from Princeton University and the Newark College of Engineering.

Anna was formerly a Cub Scout Den Mother and active in the PTA at Our Lady of Sorrows School in Jersey City. She was currently a Communicant of Good Shepherd Parish at Holy Rosary Church, and a member of the seniors club at the church, and was a Volunteer Reader at Ben Franklin School in Edison.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2005 and her siblings Angela Somma, Mary Bozza, and Anthony Cappiello. She is survived by her sons Dr. Ronald J. Gironda and his wife Diane of Mountain Lakes, and Robert A. Gironda and his wife Justine of Edison. She is also survived by her grandchildren Marc (Lori), Lisa (Matthew), Jason (Jennifer), Michael (Ann), and Vincent, her great grandchildren Mia, Alec, Gracie, Joseph, and Riley. Also surviving are her two sisters Delores Quattrone and Rose Cappiello, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday August 31, 2015 from 4:30 to 8:30 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue Fords. Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday September 1, 2015 beginning at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a liturgy at 10 am at Holy Rosary Church. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
