Angeles Cauz Lopez

Angeles C. Lopez (nee Cauz), 96, of Toms River, New Jersey, formerly of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, passed away on August 13, 2026, at Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree in Norwood, MA. Born February 25, 1930, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to the late Benigno Cauz and Carmen Cauz, she spent her childhood in New Brunswick before moving to Perth Amboy, New Jersey, in 1941 and graduating from Perth Amboy High School in 1948. She finally moved closer to her family in 2004, when she moved to Toms River.

Angeles, also known as Ank or Angie, was the loving wife of Pasquale (“Pat”) Lopez for 46 years of marriage prior to Pat’s passing in June 1997. Pat and Angeles were married in June 1951. In 1953, her younger sister, Saturnina (“Nina”), married Pat’s brother, Robert. Together, these two couples shared 2-family homes throughout their marriages and raised Angeles and Pat’s sons, Eugene and Scott, and their nieces Nina and Lisa.

Angeles worked hard her entire life. While raising her boys, she supplemented the family’s income by working part-time as a hairdresser. Later, she worked at Public Service Electric and Gas for many years. After her retirement from PSE&G, she worked in the public school system as a cafeteria aide.

Angeles is survived by her sons, Eugene Lopez of Bayville, New Jersey and Scott Lopez and his wife Ruth of Sharon, MA, five grandchildren, Deanna Lopez of Bayville, New Jersey, Jenna Ross and her husband Will Ross of Somerville, New Jersey, David Lopez of Baltimore, MD, Matthew Lopez of San Francisco, CA and Sarah Lopez and her husband Asaf Elad of Kiryat Bialik, Israel, two great-granddaughters, Kingsley Victoria Ross and Talia Lopez Elad, and many nieces and nephews. Angeles was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Diane Quatrocchi Lopez, and all her siblings, Celestino Cauz, Saturnina Lopez, Frank Cauz, and Theresa Kratzar.
