Angela Sansotera, 86, of Edison passed away at her home on July 19, 2016. Born in Perth Amboy, Angie spent her whole life in Edison. After graduating from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, she was employed in 1952 by the Edison Board of Education. She worked as a guidance secretary at Edison High School and finished her 4 decade career as secretary to the librarian. Our feisty, energetic friend had a few passions in her life. At the top of the list is/was/and always will be her beloved cats. Angie was a world traveler; she especially loved the Middle East visiting Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Jordan and Iran. Angie embraced the ancient ruins and the friendly people with joy. When Angie didn't answer her phone, we knew that she would be outside by her fish pond reading and basking in the sun. She was a devoted and loving friend. She lived her life with generosity, grace, good humor and a sense of adventure. Her friends, who were like family, will miss her greatly.
Angie was predeceased by her parents Giulio and Clelia Sansotera, from the Piedmont region of Italy; her brothers, James E. and Ernest G.; and her step-mother, Edith. She is survived by her "niece," Michele Lamprakos and her "nephews," John and Charles LaDuca. Also mourning her loss are her many friends, especially the Ladies Who Lunch.
As per her wishes, Angie will be cremated. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 2-4 PM at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Please send no flowers. Let us honor Angie by making a donation to animal charity/rescue organization. Some of her favorites were Alley Cat Allies, the Audubon Society, and the Edison Animal Rescue League.
Rest in peace, dear friend.
