Andrew J. Mayer, 86, of Fords died Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born October 14, 1924, in Union City he resided in Fords since 1952. Andrew was a retired member of the United Auto Workers and worked at the Ford Assembly Plant in Edison. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords.
Andrew is predeceased by his wife, Loretta (Imbornone) Mayer, who died in 2006; his brother, John O. Mayer; and his sister, Ann Merz. Surviving are his daughter Andrea J. Gidzinski and husband Michael of Fords, son John F. Mayer of Milburn, grandchildren: Michael and Valerie Gidzinski and Dr. John Mayer, Jr; and sister, Barbara Buthman of Secaucus.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 11:45AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue Fords, NJ. Visiting hours will be 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon Saturday. Interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
