Andrew J. Kurucz, 95, of Hopelawn, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center in South Amboy. Mr. Kurucz was born in Kis Nemedi, Hungary to the late Stephen and Veronica Papp Kurucz and had lived the last sixty seven years in Hopelawn. Mr. Kurucz was a US Army Veteran of World War II.

He was employed by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education as a service repairman for eighteen years before retiring in 1988. Andrew was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Spirit Church, Perth Amboy, San Salvador Knights of Columbus, Perth Amboy and the Hopelawn VFW post 1352. He was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Nesti in 2010.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife, of seventy four years, Helen M. Kovacs Kurucz, his son, Andrew J. Kurucz Jr. of Hopelawn and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 9:30 am mass in the Good Shepherd Parish - Holy Rosary Church, Hopelawn. Private cremation will follow in the Rosehill Crematory in Linden. Visitation hours will be held Friday from 4 -6 pm.
