Amy K.
Hyland
December 3, 1974 – February 24, 2021
Amy K. Hyland
It is with great sadness that the family of Amy Hyland (nee Rudolph) announce her unexpected passing on February 24, 2021 at the age of 46. Amy will be fondly remembered by her precious children, Corinne and Christopher; her parents Wayne and Diane Rudolph; four sisters, Jill Jernee (Michael), Renee Rudolph (Chris Meyer), Julie Laskowski (Darek), and Jaclyn Victor (Aaron); and a large extended family including numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Amy was recently predeceased by her loving husband of 23 years, James 'Jimmy' Hyland.
Amy was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on December 3, 1974 and raised in Montgomery Township where she graduated from Montgomery High School in 1993. Amy met the love of her life, Jimmy, not long after graduation. They were married in October of 1997 and settled down in Fords, New Jersey, where they raised their family. Amy was a loving devoted wife and mother. She worked for the Woodbridge Township School District for a number of years where she enjoyed seeing the children off safely to school each morning. She worked as a florist at Forever Flowers in Fords, New Jersey, while volunteering as an EMT for the Clark Township Emergency Squad. She was also the proud business owner of 'The Barn House'.
Amy loved being in the outdoors and taking in the sounds of nature. She was always looked forward to her trips up to the property in Pennsylvania, which was considered to be her 'Happy Place'. She enjoyed gardening, admiring the dragon flies, befriending chipmunks, and spending quality time with her family. No one could tell a detailed story or have an infectious laugh the way Amy could. She enjoyed country music and had an amazing voice whenever she sang. Hazelnut coffee, hot tea, and Italian cuisine were some of her favorite comfort foods and would be offered to you whenever you stepped into her house. For many years, the long journeys of a motorcycle ride with Jimmy was one of Amy's passions where she made numerous friendships along the way, even at a red light. She was extremely creative with her interior decorating, writing short poetry, drawing, and building sand sculptures at the beach. She was always full of surprises.
In honor of Amy ' s life, the family is encouraging everyone to wear their favorite Harley Davidson or a tee-shirt and jeans to visit on her last journey with us. Amy ' s life will be celebrated at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, New Jersey, on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
