Americo Bernardino Lopes, 83, of Perth Amboy, NJ passed peacefully at his home on Friday, November 22, 2024.

He was born August 5, 1941, in Caldas, Rainha, Portugal and had immigrated to the United States in 1967, setting in Perth Amboy NJ.

He was a retired assembly worker for many years with General Motors in Linden.

He was a life member of the Portuguese Sporting Club.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arcelino and Victoria Alice Lopes and his son, Miguel David Lopes, who died in 1973.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 58 years, Laura Rainha David Lopes, his son, Mario David Lopes and his wife Linda Maia Lopes, of Freehold, his daughter, Michelle David Lopes of Perth Amboy, his five grandchildren; Michael, Kayla, Rebecca, Joshua and Scarlett, and his brother, Antonio Lopes of Perth Amboy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4 pm until 8 pm with a prayer service at 5:30 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave. Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 9:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, 188 Wayne Street Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery Woodbridge.
