Alvin
Kravet
December 18, 1931 – October 31, 2025
Alvin Kravet, 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Metuchen, New Jersey on Friday,
October 31, 2025. Alvin and his beloved wife Ginette, were long-time residents of Metuchen where they raised their family. Alvin led a rich and full life with an endless enthusiasm for learning.
Alvin was born to Sadie and Sol Kravet and spent the formative years in Brooklyn, NY. After attending medical school and serving in the army, he became a dedicated radiologist and the senior member of his practice. Alvin was devoted to Jewish life and served as President of Congregation Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy. He was admired for his intelligence, judgment, and compassion. After retiring, he divided his time between Boca Raton, Florida and Metuchen.
Alvin was a dedicated physician and an amazing diagnostician. He was an avid photographer, a stamp collector, and an amateur magician who performed magic shows for his grandchildren's birthday parties. He loved reading, history, Jeopardy, chocolate, and anything involving new technology. His mind was sharp to the end, his memory extraordinary, and his wisdom and advice something friends, family, and colleagues turned to and trusted.
He will be remembered for his warmth, heart, and humor. Alvin had a well-told joke for every occasion and enriched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his son Donald (Louise); his daughter Elise (Ken); grandchildren Emma (Shane), Annie (Matthew), Sophie, Steven (Brandy), Jessie, and Allie (Eddie); and greatgrandchildren Owen, Margot, Dahlia, and Feyre.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sadie and Sol, his beloved wife Ginette, his son Steven, and brother Larry and sister Marilyn.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Sunday, November 2, at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.
May his memory be a blessing.
