Allen F. Spaventa, 74, of Edison, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 18, 2022.. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on July 1, 1948, and had resided most of his life in Edison.
He was a graduate of Edison High School, with the class of 1966. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Rutgers University New Brunswick Campus.
He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War at the Naval Radio Communications Station in Guam.
He was a long time, dedicated member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Edison.
He was a retired Customer Care Manager for over 25 years with Siemens. After retiring in 2010, Allen spent his time doing all the things he loved: traveling with his beloved wife, enjoying his children and grandchildren and as an avid model train enthusiast, spending time at his railroading clubs.
He leaves behind, his beloved wife of 51 years, Kristine (nee: Struve) Spaventa, his beloved son, Keith Spaventa, and beloved daughter, Jacquelyn Fields and her husband James Fields of Howell, his precious grandchildren, Brandon, Ryann, Olivia and Mia, his brother, Paul Spaventa and his wife Bonnie of PA and his sister, Tina Spade and her husband David of Toms River.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863, with funeral services at 11 am on Thursday, December 22, 2022. As a Navy veteran, interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ at CINJ.org .
