Obituary

Allen S. Greenspan, 83, of Fairfax, VA, died August 21, 2016, at The Woodlands Retirement Community. Born July 29, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Fairfax for the last five years. Prior to his move to Fairfax, Allen lived in Skillman, NJ, for 10 years and in Edison, NJ, for 35 years. He was a Certified Public Accountant for 60 years with clients in New York, New Jersey and Virginia.

Allen was a graduate of Southside High School in Rockville Centre, NY, Class of 1951. He was a graduate of Adelphi University, Class of 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a previous member of the Jewish Center of Princeton, Temple Neve Shalom in Metuchen and Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Allen was a devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Diane Greenspan, who passed in 2010.  He was also predeceased by his sister, Francine Mintz of FL.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving companion for the past 3 years, Janet Hughes. The children to whom he devoted his life, Lisa Thomas and her husband, Gary, of VA and his son, Larry Greenspan and his wife, Bonnie, of MD; his beloved grandchildren, Dayna and Jaime Thomas and Carly and Haley Greenspan.

Funeral services will be held on August 24, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be held at the Solomon Residence in Scotch Plains immediately following the burial.
