Alice (Fox) McGoldrick, 99, died on January 4, 2011, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Woodbridge. Born in Ireland, she was a resident of Edison for 34 years and was formerly of New Hyde Park, LI. Alice was employed by Shroder Inc., Brooklyn, NY, for 14 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Francis Cathedral and the Senior Citizens at the church.
Alice was the oldest of eleven siblings. She is predeceased by her husband, James McGoldrick (1982); five brothers: Bernard, Michael, Patrick, Robert, and Peter Fox; four sisters: Catherine Burke, Theresa Smith, Maureen Dunne, and Elizabeth Dowling.
She is survived by her sister, Bridie Doolan, of Essex, England; a niece, Belinda Meere of Middletown, NY, and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011, at 10 AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. A 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy will follow at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY.
