Alice (Berman) Durst, 89, of Edison, passed away on May 19, 2015, at Whispering Knoll, Edison. Born in Brooklyn, Alice was a resident of Metuchen for many years. She attended the New Jersey College for Women (Douglass College) and graduated in 1948. Alice then taught at Campbell School in Metuchen for 28 years. She was a founding member of Temple Neve Shalom, Metuchen. Alice was active for many years in the League of Women Voters, and was an avid traveler.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Wallace J. Durst, DDS (1985), and her sister Gertrude Kam.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Durst of MD, Lawrence Durst of Westfield, Frederick Durst of Metuchen and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 22, 2015, from Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, followed by interment in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
