Alice Benson

Alice Benson (nee Fedak), 98, of Carteret, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Carteret, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Benson was a communicant of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters-Court Fidelis and the Servants of Mary.

Mrs. Benson was predeceased by her husband, Edward A. Benson, who died in 1990; and her parents, Michael and Anna (nee Rok) Fedak. She was also the sister of the late Helen Donovan, Vera Vass, Martha Gilbert, Catherine Itzen, Sophia Foxe and Anna (Mary), Stanley and Joseph Fedak.

Mrs. Benson is survived by her four children: Mark Benson of Sewaren; Susan Molnar and her husband James of Orlando, Florida; Nancy Georgette and her husband, George, of Williamsburg, Virginia; and Edward Benson and his wife, Maria of Washington Twp., New Jersey. She was proud of her six grandchildren: Jennifer Roy (Garret); Sarah Lapinsky (Blake); James Molnar (Caitlin); Ryan Benson (Raluca); Ashley Brice (Dan); and Tara Klingel (Dan); and her 11 great-grandchildren: Cash, Chloe, Caden, Corso, James, Emily, Nathan, Savannah, Edward, Madelyn and Tatum.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 3-7 PM at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ. Funeral Services will begin at 9:15 on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Carteret. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
