Obituary

Alexandra "Allie" Ewing, 11, transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Robert  Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

Allie was born in Edison on August 17, 2011, to Keith and Eleni Ewing.  She was a natural born leader who loved sports, engineering, nature, and helping others. Allie was involved in and excelled at all activities such as band, clubs, and volunteer work but it was sports where she really shined. A true athlete who participated in Edison Jets football, Edison Midtown softball, Edison Little Eagles wrestling, Thomas Jefferson Middle School soccer, and Edison Boys Baseball, Edison Midtown Softball is where Allie found her love.

She was a child who had a strong fondness for and love of nature, insects, and animals while having a passion for life and others. Allie always loved learning and teaching anyone a lesson about nature. For such a young person, she was a mature soul who was very selfless. Allie's infectious heart extended to others through her charity work, involvement in her community, and by hand delivering care packages to the less fortunate in NYC.

She was an independent, intelligent, confident child who we know had an old soul that was here before. Allie understood and appreciated life at an early age. She was a blessing who spread joy and kindness to anyone with whom she came into contact.

Allie is survived by her parents, Keith and Eleni Ewing; her sister, Victoria "Vikki" Rymer; her brother, Andreas "Buddy" Ewing; her grandparents: Mizell & Mary Ewing; Hylemia Ewing & Eric Blacken; and Andreas & Laura Papadakis; her great-grandmother, June Ewing; her uncles and aunts: Mizell & April Ewing, Sean & Ashley Ewing, Yanni & Dimitra Papadakis, and Christine & George Zymvragoudakis; a host of cousins, extended family members, teammates, and friends.

Allie had always displayed a natural curiosity for life and a relentless personality -- never surrendering and operating on her own terms. She was a true beacon of light for the world and a vision of what a human being should strive to be. "Thank you," Allie, for shedding your light on us and the world!
