Alec E. Ecobichon 72 of Fords, entered into eternal rest, November 3, 2016 at his home. He was born in Newark, NJ, on January 2, 1944, and lived in Morris County as a child before moving to Elizabeth, after the sudden death of his father in 1954.
Alec graduated Thomas Jefferson High School in 1962. He was employed with Elizabethtown Gas Co., starting as a Service Mechanic apprentice and retiring in 1998 as a Training Instructor after 34 years of service. In 2006 he accepted a position with PSE&G as a Training Instructor in the Gas Division at the Edison facility until retiring in 2014.
Alec loved the music of the 1950's and 60's. He had a huge collection of records, albums, and CD's and knew the names of all the groups and singers from that era.
He loved listening to a variety of music, but the du-wop music was always his favorite.
He was a member of the Retirees Club of Elizabethtown Gas and PSE&G, and a member of the NRA, and the Easton Fish and Game Assn.
Alec was predeceased by his father Edward Ecobichon, and his mother Thelma Decker Ecobichon Jenkins and her husband A. Eugene Jenkins. He is survived by his devoted wife Margaret D'Antico Ecobichon to whom he was happily married for 50 years, his sons Christopher of Fords, and Jeffrey and his fiancée Jody Borack of Fords, and his loving grandchildren Lucas Christopher and Julia Eda.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held on November 9, 2016 at 11 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue Fords. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Mausoleum. Visitation is November 8, 2016 from 3-7pm. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center 65 James St., Edison, NJ.
