Alcide L. "Cheetie" Sacco, 84, of Edison, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. .
Born in New Brunswick and formerly of Highland Park, he had resided in Edison for the last 58 years.
He was a graduate of Highland Park High School, with the class of 1951 and proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, while being stationed in Germany.
He was a retired Sheet Metal Mechanic with the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local # 27 of Farmingdale.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Joseph Reilly and his brothers, Frank and Thomas Sacco.
Alcide leaves behind; his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Jane Sacco, his two daughters, Catherine M. Sacco and Maryann Reilly, his son, Frank Sacco and his wife, Susan, his nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Caitlin, William, Jessica, Jackie, Nicole, Joseph, Jesse and Francis, his brother, Louis Sacco, his sisters; Rita Kendzulak and Lena De Francesco and sister-in-law, Gail Meshofski and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral

Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Cremation will follow privately.
