Alberta "Bert" Sobrey, 92, passed from this life peacefully at her home on Friday, November 18, 2022.

Bert was born in Perth Amboy to Steve and Mary Wojtanowski Sobieraj.  Growing up she and her family were parishoner's of then, St. Stephen's Catholic Church, now St. John Paul, II Parish. She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School.  After graduation, she began working for National Lead in Sayreville as an accountant where she remained until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Bernita Sobrey, in 2012. Although Bert never married, she remained especially close with her niece, Christine Whittom, and cousins that survive her: Linda Katz, Billy and John Katz, and James Orosz.

Visitation will take place from 4:00pm -7:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, where funeral services will begin on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 9:30 am. The Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 am on Friday, December 2, 2022, from St Stephen's Catholic Church/ St. John Paul II Parish, 490 State St., Perth Amboy.  Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
