Agnes Cecilia Wood, entered eternal peace Sat., March 16, 2013, in Hudson, FL. Born to Bernard and Mary Wood Sept.16, 1916, in Perth Amboy where she lived for 79 years, she was one of eight children.
Agnes entered Fletcher Hosp. Nursing School in NC as an adult learner in her 30s. After graduation, she returned to NJ to care for her mother despite the fact that the nursing school wanted to send her to Duke University to get her B.S. While working full-time as an OR nurse in PA Gen Hosp, Agnes cared for her mother and commuted to Rutger's at night, graduating Cum Laude with her B.S. in Nursing.
She became PAHS's school nurse in 1966, where she worked until she was 70.
She moved to Florida in 1995 to care for her sister. Her siblings have pre-deceased her. Agnes is survived by nieces Marlohn Balas Jenkins of Pasadena, CA, and Lori Balas Trent of Ft Lauderdale, FL, as well as other nieces and nephews in various parts of the country.
She is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords.
