Agnes Costello, 91, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Edison, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 26, 2014 in Lake Wylle, SC.

She was born in New York to Walter and Gertrude Haas who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Edward H. Costello Sr.

Agnes had been employed at Maidenform and the cafeteria of Ford Motor Co. both in Edison. Her main focus in life, however was being a wife, homemaker and mother to her 5 children.

She relocated from NYC to Edison in 1950. She was one of the founding members of St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Edison. Agnes and Ed moved in 1988 to Ponce Inlet, Fl. where he retired. After the death of her husband in 2001 she moved to Houston, TX., but spent time in Lake Wylle, SC.

Surviving are two daughters Eileen A. Buesing and husband Kirby of Houston, TX, Patricia I. Wilner and husband Jeffrey of Ponce Inlet, FL, three sons, Joseph C. Costello and his wife Rebecca of York, SC, Michael W. Costello and his wife, Judith of Lake Wales, FL and Edward Costello, Jr. and his wife, Diane of Edison and Winter Haven, FL. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.


Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Queens, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
