Obituary

Agnes Bojsza (age 66) passed away on August 10, 2022 after many years of health challenges. She loved to laugh and was loyal, loving, thoughtful, and stubborn.

Agnes was born and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey where her grandparents settled after immigrating to the US from Poland. She was fortunate to see her fun-loving extended family often. She attended St. Stephen's School and Perth Amboy High School where she formed friendships that lasted the duration of her life.

Agnes attended Montclair State University and spent her career working with speech and special education students in Perth Amboy. She thought of teaching as her vocation and her calling, only retiring when her health prevented her from working. For almost 40 years she was an integral part of the school community. She made amazing bulletin boards, produced the school newsletter, and helped many, many students find their voices and express themselves.

Agnes enjoyed crafting, baking and cooking (especially for others), and was super-fan of Paul McCartney and The Beatles. During her retirement, she volunteered for causes that touched her deeply, campaigning for Hillary Clinton and reading to children in daycare.

Agnes valued family and traditions, revelling in happy childhood memories of holidays and vacations. She had a very close relationship with her parents and was her mother's primary caregiver in the last years of her mother's life. She never forgot a birthday or a milestone among the extended family or her friends, sending beautiful cards at those times and at Christmas, and she loved a party! Birthdays, showers, weddings, wedding anniversaries, holidays, and even the anniversary of The Beatles coming to America were cause for weeks of meticulous planning, copious amounts of food, and hours of merriment.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents Walter and Emilia Bojsza, and her last canine companion, Gidget.  Agnes' surviving family includes her brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Joan Bojsza, nieces Elizabeth and Katherine, their husbands Jeffery Landgraf and Nicholas Colello,  great-nephews James, Miles, and Ellis, and great-niece Robin. She will also be missed by many cousins, including several Godchildren.

Details about a memorial to celebrate Agnes' life will be shared by the family at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a donation be made in Agnes' honor to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library , Reading is Fundamental , or another organization that supports children's literacy, a cause close to Agnes' heart.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ
