Abel "Junior" Alfonso Jr.,  73, of Fords, entered into eternal rest May 24, 2018, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.  He was born in Newark and has resided in Fords for the past 44 years.  He was a Carpet Installer with Locals #2212 and #251 in Edison.

Junior was predeceased by his wife, Alma "Kip" Alfonso, in 2006.  He is survived by his son, Andrew, of Fords.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords.  Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.  Visitation is Tuesday May 29, 2018, from 4-8 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Humane Society.
