Alphonsus R. Tedesco

Alphonsus R. Tedesco, age 93 of Perth Amboy, died on Monday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. He was born in South Amboy and lived in Perth Amboy for most of his life.

Mr. Tedesco was a Supply Officer for the Department of Defense for 33 years, retiring in 1972. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Hopelawn where he served as Head usher and was a member of the Church’s Holy Name Society and Senior’s Bingo Worker. He was past commander of the Catholic War Veterans Rosary Memorial Post # 1613, the Knights of Columbus San Salvador Council #299 and Chapter 1000 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, all of Perth Amboy.

Mr. Tedesco was predeceased by his wife, Ann who died in June, 2008, his parents, Ferdinand and Bambina Tedesco, his brothers, Ferdinand, Dominic, and Joesph and his sister, Carmelita Coan.

Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law, Alan Tedesco of Highlands, NJ and Richard and Catherine Tedesco of Edison, NJ, his brother, Armand F. Tedesco of Whiting, his two grandchildren, Vincent and Margaret and many nieces and nephews.
