Mrs. O’Connor was an original member of the American Legion Post 471 Ladies Auxiliary in Iselin, NJ for 45 years, an active member of the Roosevelt Hospital Auxiliary for over 20 years and a Cub Scout den mother in the 50’s. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, John O’Connor. She is survived by her children John O’Connor of Metuchen, Patricia Stankus and her husband, Kurt of Flemington and Michael O’Connor and his wife, Anne of Edison and her grandchildren, Connor Stankus, Chelsea Stankus, Kayla O’Connor and Tara O’Connor.

Mary Anne O’Connor, age 79, passed away on Saturday, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and friend Julie Graham. Mrs. O’Connor was born in Flushing, New York on October 23, 1928 to John and Rose Leonard. She later moved to New York City where she graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary High School, Class of ‘46 and went on to work for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. In 1954 she moved with her husband, John O’Connor to Menlo Park Terrace in Metuchen, NJ.
