Joseph LaGuardia, age 86 of Fords, died on Wednesday at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, after a brief illness. He was born in Rahway and had resided in Fords for the last 60 years. A master mechanic by trade, he owned and operated the Boulevard Garage in Perth Amboy for over 20 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords. Joe loved his family and could always be found fixing something in his garage. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis La Guardia, his mother and father, Carmella and Phillip La Guardia, three sisters and four brothers. Surviving are his daughters and son-in-law, Millie Brannigan of Port Reading and Phyllis and James Vargo of Brick, his son, Joseph LaGuardia of Elk Grove, CA, his sister, Frances LaGuardia of Woodbridge and he was blessed with seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family.
